Sent a few old saws down to get resharpened Jakob’s saw revival did an amazing job. A pleasure to do business with, responds very quickly to any questions asked and is very knowledgeable about the saws. Very highly recommended.

Saws arrived safely this afternoon and are absolutely superb! I particularly like the feel and cut quality of the carcass saw.  It leaves a superb clean cut on beech. The Disston handle is really comfortable thank you and the saw is easy starting with a very fine set which leaves a clean finish with no blade wobble.

The saws are back in use. They feel as if they cut like new – or perhaps better, so many thanks. A great job.

The saw I bought from Jakob was fantastic; beautifully restored and fantastically sharpened. Along with the excellent range of services available, both the saw and Jakob’s saw services will make a great addition to my workshop.

Thanks a lot for the great website and the resources included. I recently came across it when I was looking for saw handle shape ideas. I have never made a saw handle and I’m also new to saw sharpening.
But I’m not new to woodworking. I worked as a high-end finish carpenter in the SF East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley, CA) for over 20 years. Now, as I got older, I have a desk job, but I have a shop and enjoy working with wood. Now, that no-one is watching over me, I work with hand tools only – no electricity.

I really have to say, I found your sharpening explanation and the saw handle process explained really well and, honestly, much better than the explanations from some of the famous woodworkers.
