Description
22” Henry Disston No. 16 1878-1888
There is a little bit of the two etches left. Apple handle with lovely wheat carving. This saw is hard to find in this good state, and set up to saw wonderfully.
The medallion, and the round curves of the handle make this a 1878-1888’s Disston saw. This era Disston saw is praised for the best of steel and very beautifully shaped hand shaped handles and wheat carving.
The plate has been cleaned by hand (not sanded), straightened and flattened (which is one of the last steps before leaving the factory when it was checked over). The handle is cleaned and refinished with shellac to look and feel as original as possible. Nuts and bolts lightly brushed clean to keep the patina.
Handle size Medium, 3 3/4″ across the palm
10 ppi , you choose the filing, rip or crosscut, and for soft or hardwoods.
